eRomance and Floordates


emily and i have our first date!  blog romances, woo woo

the girl next door went out on a date with me!  if you haven’t noticed yet, i’m not the only blogger on this website.  emily macleod is on my left, and her floor (2nd kalsbeek) and my floor (3rd beets) had a floor date not too long ago.  we had a photo scavenger hunt around campus, and guess who won?  read on to find out.  oh yeah, emily also cheated on me during the date, which i discovered and documented.

before i tell u who won, i have to inform you of my hectic start to the date.  i was late, which is very unlike myself, because my work shift ended half an hour after the date’s kickoff time.  however, i had planned in advance and gotten one of my friend’s phone numbers so i could call her and meet up with everyone else.  one problem though: she didn’t end up going on the floordate, and she never answered my calls.  so i was stranded in the middle of calvin college!  i began sweating profusely, and i had to loosen my proverbial tie as i fumbled through my cell phone’s contact list.  as i sought a contact who might be on the date, i found my floor’s AC (activities coordinator).  he’s the one who organized the date with 2nd kalsbeek’s AC, so he would be there.  sighing with relief, i pressed the button and greeted the familiar ring tone.  the phone rang… and rang… and rang… and… he wasn’t picking up.

at that moment, i saw one of my floormates, andrew hoogendam, with a group of girls, sprinting around with a camera.  i wish i could throw in something dramatic here, but all i really did was join their group; no fireworks, no explosions to climax this story.

so who won?  my group and my roommate’s group tied for first.  how fitting!  and my relationship with emily?  let’s just say it’s kinda shaky right now.  e-romances, especially through blogs, don’t always work out too well.
