Driving, Videos, and Broken Ankles

once again, a lot has happened since my last post.  first, i got a driver’s permit!  that’s right, i can now drive, but only with a licensed adult.  now i’m one step closer to transportation bliss.  second, my roommate and i rearranged our room.  now we have space for some small loveseats.  we’re looking at some couches in nearby holland and we’re hoping to check them out this weekend.  third . . .

my video team created a promo video for an airband group!  what’s sweet is that, not only will it be shown at one of the biggest events at calvin, we will also get free tickets and an honorarium for our work.  if we win the best video award, we’ll also get the prize money of $100.  so our fingers are crossed.  props to my team for making the video in only 2 days.  it cost my roommate two calculus assignments, but it’s all worth it.  fourth, we had our second intramural basketball game.  this one was more dramatic as the game ended early due to a pretty serious injury.  we were down by 4 with a minute remaining when an opposing player landed on my teammate’s foot during some chaos under the basket.  he went down by the baseline and lay there.  after checking his ankle, he knew there was something wrong.  his foot was twisted at an odd angle.  this was no sprain.  his foot was twisted inwards at a sharp angle.  it looked like a break.  so the game ended early and we lost by 4.  i’m ok with it, i had fun.
