I Got the Summer Job!
i just received the big news from the Calvin Center for Social Research (CSR) today. i’ll be working for them when i return from colorado in mid-july. it’s such a great position, and i can’t wait to begin. i’ll be handling a lot of the aesthetics and layout for various projects. the projects can be booklets all the way to web design. it’ll be a great way for me to touch up my design skills and expand into new territory. i have never designed a booklet before, so i’m psyched to make one. the closest thing i’ve made is a camp pamphlet, and that was a simple black and white job. now i’ll get to design statistical booklets, which will go straight into the hands of the CSR’s clients. and there may be some web projects i can work on, which would be great practice if i ever work with web developers. they can develop all the code, and i can pretty it up in a nice layout. ah, this is so exciting, i can’t wait to start!
VROOoooOOOooom
i did my first bit of driving in america today. since i got my permit a few months ago for identification purposes (i needed it to get a cell phone), i havent really thought about driving too much. i studied to take the written test to get my permit, and since i’m over 18, i just needed to pass the test. with my permit, i could drive as long as there was a licensed adult in the car with me.
