the eye of the storm
I’ve spent forty-seven hours in a car over the last week and a half, and I have sixteen more to go. By Easter Monday, my road trip thirst will be successfully quenched. (Don’t you think??)
I love Calvin dearly, but I think it’s odd planning to have spring break so near Easter—to come back to school for a few days just to leave for home again. So, although I just got in to Grand Rapids on Sunday night, I’ll be leaving again tomorrow afternoon for a few more days at home. It’ll be good to celebrate together, but it makes for a distracted half-week here. I can’t decide if I’m going or coming, and I don’t feel settled.
Still, the craziness is good. Makes me itch to stay in one place. After Easter, when I’m back at Calvin, I’ll have two months left. Two months!! Hardly any time at all. I have final essays to plan, another sociology lab to do, and then finals. Then the flurry of goodbyes, especially to all my senior friends. (Not sure yet if I’ll survive that.) And then summer.
No way. Summer cannot be two short months away…
In the meantime, I’m looking forward to dyeing eggs. Haven’t done that in years!!—jl
