settling in

So, I’m safe and sound at home, as of Sunday afternoon.  Whew!  It’s been a busy couple of weeks.  Wrapping up the last classes, cleaning the apartment, and seeing the other girls off… I can’t believe that that’s it for another year!  [And next year’s my last… I don’t feel like I’ve been at Calvin long enough to be a senior!]

This is that awkward school year/summer transition time… At school, you get used to watching your own back and scheduling yourself and taking care of everything you need to do.  Back to family life—it can be a bit of a shock.  Kind of have to slow down and make sure we all know what’s going on.

I still have to finish my last internship project, which will (hopefully!) be done tomorrow.  But once that’s done, I can start thinking about what’s going on this summer.  (And I have such plans… Wish I could start them right this minute, but there’s still stuff to do…)

Oh, and then there’s the sad fact: the van is still full of my stuff, in the garage.  Rats.  So I can’t really find anything right now… Slowly unpacking and disgorging everything into my bedroom—letting my boxes mingle with my little sister’s post-college unpacking…

Things are kind of confusing.

But it’s great to be home.  Once this final project is done, I’ll really be able to relax and settle in. —jl
