as promised: the oceanography photo album

These are so gorgeous… makes me want to go north again this weekend!! But no, I’ll be catching up on homework these days.

Enjoy!

This is from the hike we took at Au Sable.

These are the girls I lived with for the night, taking pictures of each other in the mirror. We had such a blast! (Sorry it’s blurry. I think I was laughing too hard…)

Yes, as promised, this is a picture of the carpet in our cabin. (I told you it was not to be missed!! I’ll need to get more of that when I have my own place…) Again, blurry due to laughter!!

This is me and Jess, my unofficial lab partner and friend. (The friend part is official. Hey, we’re going to compare oceanography notes every Monday night… you don’t have better bonding than that!! Ha ha.)

This is on Au Sable territory… isn’t it gorgeous?

The forest around Au Sable and our cabin…

It’s me! On the top of the dune we climbed, and after I caught my breath. Whew! But isn’t the view great??

Another view from the top of the dune climb:

The rest of the class across the dune. Hopefully this helps show how huge it was…

The view over Sleeping Bear Dune:

And, you’ve been so patient, here’s the last one: Point Betsey Lighthouse. (As my prof said, it’s arguably the cutest lighthouse on the Michigan shore…)

It was so much fun. This weekend will be a quiet, study weekend. I’m trying to read about a hundred different novels for my classes… Well, more like five. That’s still plenty to keep me busy…—jl
