running the race
It’s disconcerting, but the weeks are picking up speed, I promise. In your chair, wherever you are, do you feel it? Earth’s spinning a little faster, yes? And I’m feeling dizzy…
As the Calvin Alumni ########### cheerfully reminded us a little over a week ago, we (the senior class) now have less than a hundred days until graduation. AUGH! Run for your lives!
I remember in kindergarten when we had “100” day. Everyone brought in a hundred of something: buttons, pennies, jelly beans: all that glee in connection to 100 day. Not so, right now. I’d be bringing, oh, 100 life jackets, 100 crash helmets, 100 therapy visits, 100 oxygen tanks…

room-warming
Yesterday, and not a week or so ago, was the long-awaited Day of the Bed. Yes, I am now sleeping above the floor like most people. (And the trampoline is gone, much sadness.) No, really, our room is finally put together after all the chaos of interim break. Look! It’s gorgeous.

surviving with class
So I am clinging to the life raft known as “the weekend.” Ah, a beautiful thing. These first two weeks of the spring semester have been crazy. Deeply good, but insane nonetheless. I really, really shouldn’t be surprised by this. My normal pattern at the start of semesters is a week of “syllabus shock,” when every ########## listed on each of the syllabi feels like it’s due, oh, tomorrow. And so I either try to do everything right now (my weekend to-do list last week was ninety-seven items long. I’m not kidding. Have I mentioned that I have a problem with proportion?) or I freeze up and buy magazines and do nothing (hence my current obsession with Gourmet).

regathering
So we had another Convocation service on Wednesday--the Regathering service--and I went because I thought: hey, I’m a senior. And it’s my last chance to do this kind of thing! I loved seeing the slide show of all the interim off-campus trips… so jealous of all the students who traveled! It was good to see the familiar faces and professors and everyone… but I was really blown away by the message.

the oh-five oh-six transition: a few photos
...And we are mid-way through the first week of the spring semester! We had our Re-Gathering convocation today, my internship is underway, and the days have been large and full. I have so much to say, but I hope to get to that this weekend. For now, a few pictures…
My sisters and I at home for Christmas (sorry, it’s a tinge blurry):
