Laidback Friday Nights…
Last night, my friend Maria and I went to a concert in the Fine Arts Center. I was so excited—the artist was Lizz Wright, a jazz singer, and I love jazz! It was a simple, intimate evening: just the singer, pianist, guitarist, and percussionist in front of a black curtain. The audience was fairly small and sat close to the stage, so it felt more relaxed. And Lizz Wright has a deep, strong voice and poetic lyrics. It was great. Maria and I got coffee afterwards from the Fish House and went back to her apartment to talk. It was one of those perfect, laidback Friday nights.
