It is spring of my junior year, and that means it is time to start thinking about post-Calvin plans. I know that in order to get a job in my chosen field I will need to go to grad school, but just what is my chosen field going to be? When I graduate I will have an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, so I could go on to further study either of those. Speech Pathology would require a 2-year Masters Program, whereas Audiology would require a 4-year Doctoral Program. There are fewer options for Audiology school, and it would take longer to attain the appropriate degree, but I am fascinated by the ear. My linguistics class has really piqued my interest this semester, too, though, so maybe I’d rather pursue that, but what sort of jobs are there for someone with a masters in linguistics?

More Living Room Travel
Some people only get to go one place, maybe Florida, for spring break. We’ve already been to Jamaica, and last night we traveled to France, all from the comfort of our own living room and without the disrupting forces of jet lag! We got lots more fresh fruit at the grocery store and proceeded to make a decadent dark chocolate fondue in which to dip it. Turns out fondue is easy to make, and not all that expensive, so we might end up doing this again in the future. Who doesn’t love hot, dripping chocolate to dip their strawberries, oranges, bananas, marshmallows, and rice crispy treats in? Certainly not these girls:

Jamaica for Spring Break
Ok, not really. In fact, very far from it. I am spending my spring break in Grand Rapids, working and getting ahead on some projects. It won’t be a lying-on-the-beach type of break, but it will pay off later in the year when my projects are already done and I have enough money to buy groceries. Plus, a number of my friends are sticking around too, including my delightful housemate Liz. We’ve been having a most relaxing weekend. We had enough time to really clean the house yesterday, and since there will be so few people in this house for the week, it will stay clean! Plus we’ve done all our laundry and had time to make some good food that will last the whole week. And tonight, we went to Jamaica.

I live with some amazingly talented women. Last weekend we got to celebrate that talent. And take our first-ever house picture:
Some of us were looking more stellar than others, but left to right we are Natalie, Patience, Lindsey, Moriah, me, Laura, and Liz.
