PICKLES
Thursday, June 21, 2007
By D~$$~HASSWhy do i love pickles so much? Is it because there green? Is it because of the initial crunch of goodness when you bite into that flavorful cucumber? Is it because no mater what lunch meal you eat they always hit the spot? Or maybe it’s because I like to say pickles with a lisp? Who knows, but all I know is I love pickles? My girlfriend actually loved pickles so much she used to eat pickle sandwiches; not goin to lie thats a little weird but ya know....whatever ya know. Remember there are two rules about pickles....love them and eat them however you want neglecting what other people may say about you who cares you are a pickle lover and you should be proud of your infatuation with a vinegar soaked cucumber! HOLA ATCHYA BOY!!

By AllisonHello again my friends,
I really have no idea what to write about. I’ve never been that big into weblogging, probably if i did i would just talk about non-sense which is what is going to happen right now. : )
hmmm...well i’m sitting in my office on a friday. i share an office with Dan Hasson. It’s really fun because we get to listen to music as we work. Some of our favorites are red jumpsuit apparatus, nee-yo, journey, jack’s mannequin. Those are just to name a few. We are also in charge of putting together all the mixes for PASSPORT and QUEST so i hope that you will enjoy. We are very eclectic.
I’m getting really excited for our first PASSPORT. We started working on our skits and i really hope that you all enjoy them. I’m kind of nervous because my little brother, Nathan Triezenberg, will be a freshman here at Calvin and him and all of his friends are coming to the first PASSPORT. I hope i don’t make an idiot out of myself in front of them, because i will never hear the end of it! : )
Well i guess i should get back to work, enough of the nonsense. Enjoy the sun and get hyped for college!
Peace…
oh and i’m with Andy, i think Arial is a jerk and Jasmine is cooler but Eric is hotter than Alladin.

By Andy AllenSo I figure these things can get pretty boring so I’ll just start typing what’s on the top of my head. You know who I hate? Ariel, from “The Little Mermaid.” That chick was a brat. I mean, she had the whole sea to herself basically, had a whole cavern of thingamabobs, her father was the king, and she could talk to animals and yet still she wanted more. I mean, she sang a whole song about it. Absolutely ridiculous. If she was more like Jasmine from “Aladdin” then I think I would liked her a lot more. There was a girl who had her stuff together. She was one of the top females in Agrabah, she had a pet tiger (big time), she could have any suitor to marry, and yet she pursued true love. Then, when she got fooled by Aladdin, she found it in her heart to forgive him and then they got married two movies later (Aladdin and the Forty Thieves = Good flick). Not to mention Jasmine had a killer body.
Anyway, I’m signing off. I hope your summers are going great and that you guys are excited to come to Calvin. I hope I didn’t offend/weird out any of you with my complete randomness. I assure you all of this is in jest… sort of.

By amySo, we’ve reached what we call the “four week mark.” We’ve been working in the office full time for 4 weeks, and we have 4 weeks until the first Passport session! CRAZY! I think we’re all feeling a little extra pressure, but also lots of excitement. Personally, I can’t wait to meet the incoming freshmen. It’s always so refreshing to see a whole batch of new faces and to think about all the things new students will get involved in. Sooner than we can imagine, it will be you-- our new freshman class-- stepping into leadership positions and finding activities to flourish in. I guess that’s why I wanted so badly to be part of Orientation Board: I love the thought of being part of the freshman growing experience for students who will come out of four years at Calvin to be important, effective members of the Christian community, making the world a little more like the coming kingdom.
Okay, I got a little into it there. :) But really, I am looking forward to all the Passport sessions. I wish I had the capacity to personally get to know each and every one of you. Wouldn’t that be amazing: if human minds could remember that many names and faces?! Maybe in heaven. Until then, I’ll just say hi to everyone, but don’t get hurt feelings if I don’t remember you. :)
Alright, time to get back to work. There’s a lot of it. :) Blessings!
