Like any other home game, the 2012 Calvin College Knights played Saturday’s contest against Trine underneath the 1992 squad’s national championship banner. Unlike any other home game, the members of that 1992 team and their coach were in attendance.Twenty years after raising that banner, all but one member of the national championship team returned from across the country to Grand Rapids to reflect on and celebrate the national title, the first team championship in the school’s history. The reunion offered an opportunity for former players, now in different places doing various things, to relive the 1992 season.
