GRAND RAPIDS – Matt Veltema’s hot hand has been the spark plug for Calvin’s offense over the last three games.
In Calvin’s MIAA tournament semi-final win over Olivet on Friday, Veltema exploded from three-point range. The 6-6 forward poured in 19 points on four of six from down town en route to his fourth straight double-digit effort.

GRAND RAPIDS – It took nearly two months, but the Knights have finally become acclimated to their new home.
Calvin shot a blistering 60 percent from the field en route to a 90-72 win over Olivet in the MIAA semifinals on Friday, advancing to the league title game for seventh straight season.

NOTRE DAME, IN—The 2008-09 season came to an end for the Calvin women’s basketball team in the MIAA Tournament semifinals Thursday evening as the Knights were defeated by the host Belles of Saint Mary’s 67-58.

GRAND RAPIDS – Marcia Harris watched from the sidelines when Calvin was saddled with two overtime losses to Alma earlier this season.
She never lost to the Scots in her previous three seasons, and, facing elimination on Tuesday, she didn’t plan on starting now.
Harris poured in 10 points in only 14 minutes, Courtney Kurncz led all Calvin scorers with 12 points and the Knights snapped a two-game skid against Alma with a 69-41 win in the first round of the MIAA Tournament.
