The countdown begins…

By Ruth GroenhoutTime is getting short for our departure date. I leave in one week with my kids, and the students will join us in Accra at the end of the month. It should be a great experience for us all, but also a bit bittersweet. The kids are all saying their goodbyes to their friends, and we’re packing the things we think we’ll need when we get there. We’ll find out once we get to Accra that what we thought we needed wasn’t quite what we should have packed, of course, but that’s part of the adventure of traveling.

The Semester in Ghana program is designed so that students have the
opportunity to understand emerging theological, historical,
and social perspectives within Ghana and throughout sub-Saharan
Africa. The Calvin director in residence, the staff of the Akrofi
Christaller Institute, and select staff of the Institute for African
Studies of the University of Ghana provide resources for the
students as they reflect on issues of justice, development, and
global Christianity.
