Salsa Dancing!

By Vanessa Abreu

After so much studying the scholars were quiet excited to come to the
dance floor and learn some salsa. At 8:00PM the young ladies arrived
in dresses and heels and the young men arrived in slacks and button
down shirts. They were ready to dance. The intructor demosntrated the
dance with many of the young ladies and they did great. After learning
the main steps to salsa, the dance began. The scholars, RAs, Grant,
and even Tasha were on the dance floor dancing the night away.

Experience Entrada visitors

Yesterday we had 5 high school students come visit Entrada to see if it’s something they are interested in.  They just finished their sophomore year in high school and are about to enter their junior year this fall, so they can come next summer for Entrada 2008!!! It sounds like they want to apply for it after having come to Experience Entrada.  They visited the academic coaching session, the residence hall, had a tour of campus and also had lunch and dinner in the dining hall.  Here are some pictures:

The Scholars are working hard!

By Vanessa Abreu

The scholars work hard all morning; going to classes, taking notes, staying awake and taking tests. However, there is always time to: review class notes with classmates, eat lunch, catch up with friends, and play ultimate Frisbee before academic coaching. But after that 1 1/2 hour is over, it is time to go back to school. After lunch the scholars are required to go to academic coaching where they review class notes and prepare for the next day--test, paper, or lecture. Don’t they all look so concentrated? Maybe it’s because they have guests from the Experience Entrada Program. But wait… are those scholars late???? Maybe they had to go get something or do something for their coach!
