Paitence - Jamie

Did you notice how when people are standing in line, they tap one of their feet or start pacing back and fourth.  I do not know about for some, but speaking for myself, this drives me nuts!  I can understand if it is a long line and it may be a lengthy wait, but otherwise, why not just stand still?  Is all of that moving around really going to make the line move faster?  In all reality, it is not.

People sometimes think they are in a hurry, and they really are not.  I know a few times I have thought that I was in a hurry and was rude to people and felt I had to be in the front of the line.  Then, when I get where I am supposed to be next, I find that I arrive earlier than anticipated and I end up waiting at my next destination.
People in America need to slow down as a whole.  Everyone has a schedule to follow and over books him or her self.  It is understandable because that is whole today’s society functions, but I think people need to take more time to themselves and step back a little.  I had to opportunity to visit Ireland a few years back and walking down the street, I felt the environment was slower paced than in America.  In America, I always feel rushed and that everyone is speeding off to where he or she needed to go.  When I was in Ireland I didn’t have that feeling.  It felt as if everyone was taking their time, enjoying their stroll and sucking in all of the fresh air that they could.
I think we can learn a lesson from people who enjoy their time more wisely.  I think people need to prioritize a little more and spend more time relaxing and enjoying life.  We all need to remember what tasks are the most important and to get worked up over and which ones aren’t important and to just take a deep breath and relax.
