Be Proud of Your Testimony-Misty
LOFT’s message last night (February 27) was very thought provoking and interesting. Professor Rottman spoke about Timothy. He talked about how Timothy was ashamed of his testimony because he, unlike Paul, had not had a life changing/ faith altering experience that made his walk with God “interesting.”
I think many people feel that way about their testimony. If you had not had a significant event happen such as recovery from drugs or drinking and then finding Jesus, or a terrible accident that almost took your life, then realizing that you have something to live for, and that you do have a reason for being here, then your testimony is “boring.” You feel as though, if a non-Christian would hear your testimony, they would not be convinced of God’s greatness.
Some may have a testimony such as timothy’s and you might say, well, I grew up in a Christian home, I have known God my whole life, I went to church every Sunday morning, and I went to a Christian school. Many I’m sure would relate to this. God tells us to be proud of our testimony because God uses every person in different ways. And you have no idea what God has in store for you. He might have something planned for you. But until then, share your faith with those around you, and be proud of what God has done in your life thus far and be a witness for Him.
