A Prayer
O Lord
Why have you smitten, stricken, and afflicted us?
Why are we in the darkness?
Perhaps, O Lord, we are not worthy.
When we look up where are you to be found.
We call and call but only hear our voices.
We cry out and you answer in silence.
Why Lord?
Maybe, you, O Lord, can not help us.
Perhaps, O Lord, you are in the darkness.
Therefore in our darkness we are not alone.
Through darkness we share our suffering.
Among darkness we can relate.
You, O Lord, have been smitten, stricken, and afflicted by us.
In our darkness we seek light.
However, you Lord seek the light with us.
When you arrive, O Lord, our hope arrives.
Amen
