The Bear River Writer’s Conference
The annual Bear River Writer’s Conference will be held June 2-6, 2011 in Camp Michigania, on the shores of the Walloon Lake in northern Michigan. The cost for participants, depending on the selected food and lodging options, ranges from $605-$820 per person. The five day retreat includes intensive workshops in a variety of topics in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. Full and partial scholarships are awarded based on the merit of applicants’ submitted work.
The Bear River Writer’s Conference is sponsored by the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts and boasts of success stories such as Ellen Baker, whose novel, Keeping the House, was one of the Chicago Tribune‘s picks for the best books of 2007.
