A Christian magazine concerned with faith, politics, and culture
Payment: Payment range roughly $50-$400; $25 for poems
Sojourners does not accept many unsolicited articles, though contributors come from a range of backgrounds, published and unpublished. One page of poetry is published each issue, and Sojouners is looking particularly for “poems that intersect with or illuminate the perspective of [their] magazine, that reflect simple celebrations of life and beauty, and/or are geared toward particular seasons (i.e. Advent) or significant days (Hiroshima anniversary, MLK Jr. Day, etc.).”
The mission of Sojourners is “to articulate the biblical call to social justice, inspiring hope and building a movement to transform individuals, communities, the church, and the world.” Their reader base is primarily progressive Christian adults.
Calvin English Professor Debra Rienstra has been published in Sojourners.
