catapult magazine is a biweekly online publication that focuses on the implications of following Christ in all aspects of culture. Themes of past issues include “Life Abundant,” “Things I Keep,” “I Do Love My Family,” “Storytelling,” and an annual “Ten Things” list issue.
road journal is a quarterly print journal that compiles selected articles and artwork from catapult magazine, as well as news about *culture is not optional. For more information, visit http://www.catapultmagazine.com/about.
catapult is a great little online publication. While most any genre is accepted, issues tend to consist mainly of short to mid-length essays and reviews. Rob and Kirstin, who helm the whole organization, are also very kind and interesting people — if they (and you) are still at Calvin when you read this, you should stop by their office to chat about the publication, or anything else related to contemporary culture.
As of 2009, Kirstin Vander Giessen-Reitsma, senior editor of catapult magazine, and her husband Rob, were employed in the Calvin College Student Activities Office.
