The Carolina Quarterly was originally published in 1844 as the literary journal of the students of the University of North Carolina, and eventually became The Carolina Quarterly in 1948. The Carolina Quarterly is edited by students of the University of North Carolina.
The Carolina Quarterly is one of the finest and longest-running literary magazines in the U.S., consistently publishing new writing from established and emerging writers for over half a century.

Submit up to one prose piece of not more than 25 pages, double-spaced.
Submit up to 6 poems.
Mail genres separately.
Novel excerpts acceptable if self-contained.
Allow 4-6 months for response.
Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
No previously published work or simultaneous submissions.
No submissions accepted during June, July, or August.
