CSR is pleased to be a co-sponsor with other Calvin College Centers and Institutes of the 2010 Reformed Mission in an Age of World Christianity conference; follow this link to read more about it. Open to all, the June 15-17, 2010 conference immediately precedes the inaugural meeting of the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) on Calvin's campus. Register now! Then read on for more about CSR's plans for a focus group research project at the conference. |
To take advantage of the unprecedented gathering of Reformed church leaders from every continent here at Calvin, CSR will conduct public focus groups with representatives of international delegations to investigate the role of Reformed congregations in the provision of social services. Conference participants can observe while selected delegates inform this comparative global study. We will converse about how Reformed theology and practice produce charitable efforts in a wide range of cultures from Latin America, Africa, and Asia, as well as Europe and North America.
Conference attenders will receive inquiries from CSR about focus group participation in the spring of 2010. We welcome input from all on potential focus group questions and nominations for focus group participants with particular knowledge of Reformed social service provision in their regions.
