About Bremen 2007
Engineering Students signup for Engr 202 “Statics and Dynamics” as a summer course delivered principally at the University of Bremen. They begin this program by taking German 101 at Calvin College in the spring semester. In early July, they gather at Calvin College for one week to start their Engr 202. At the end of the week, the class flies to Bremen, Germany and resumes their Engr 202 in the morning, but, in the afternoon, they take an Advanced German Language and Culture course delivered by a German language instructor from the University of Bremen. Classes meet M-Th; 3-day weekends are committed to business and culture engagements. This program superbly satisfies the language requirement and Cross Cultural Engagement requirements; this program, coupled with an international interim or an international internship provides for an International designation on the student’s engineering diploma. Students, advanced in German, have attended and completed a special topics course toward their German minor.
