Swimming and diving success

The Calvin men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams wrapped up a historic season of competition at the MIAA Championships in February inside the Venema Aquatic Center as both teams captured league titles. The Calvin women’s team captured its 10th consecutive MIAA title—matching the longest championship streak in MIAA women’s swimming and diving history—while the Calvin men's team captured its first-ever league title.

Part of the swimming and diving teams’ success has to do with a special training trip they took to Puerto Rico during Christmas break this year. Swimmer Alex Bauman ’14 said this in a blog post about the trip: “After a brief time on the beach it was back to business. We returned to the pool for our evening session. Practice was successful on both ends of the pool and everyone could walk out with their heads held high.”
