Congratulations are also in order for faculty member and 2011-12 Van Lunen Fellow Mychal Thom, recently appointed as Executive Director of Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Van Lunen faculty member David Hahn is honored following his 28-year long career as head of Long Island Lutheran Schools in Brookville, New York.

Van Lunen Fellow Jane Bona's school, Immaculate Conception School in Columbia Heights, Minnesota celebrates 75 years.

The Van Lunen Fellows Program: Each year more than twenty heads of Christian schools from the United States, Canada, and throughout the world participate in a year-long program that includes a week-long session at Calvin College in July; five days at a Franciscan retreat center in Arizona in January; and four days at the college the following July.

The faculty are experienced heads of Christian schools that have proven executive management skills, and represent the diversity of schools within the Christian school movement. The sessions are presented in a dynamic and rigorous format that includes case studies, interactive workshops, and expert training led by the faculty and consultants in areas such as financial management, marketing, student recruitment and retention, social media, strategic planning, fund raising campaigns, facilities, sustainability and other topics relevant to executive management skills. A year-long school-related project is part of the application process, and consultants provide the fellows support in the implementation.
