Volleyball Upsets Hope in MIAA Tournament Final - Gains Automatic Bid to NCAA III Tournament
The 14th-ranked Calvin women’s volleyball team is headed to the NCAA III Tournament. The Knights punched their ticket to the big dance with a 15-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-13 upset win over fifth-ranked Hope in the MIAA Tournament Finals on Saturday at Hope’s DeVos Fieldhouse. The MIAA Tournament title is Calvin’s seventh overall including its fifth consecutive. As winners of the MIAA Tournament, Calvin gains an automatic bid to the NCAA III Tournament next week and may be playing at Hope’s DeVos Fieldhouse in a eight-team regional next week.
The sister combination of Rebecca and Lizzie Kamp came up big for the Knights as Rebecca had 14 kills and Lizzie 13 kills.

Volleyball Team Downs Alma In Three in MIAA Tournament Semis - To Face Hope in MIAA Tournament Final

HOLLAND—The Knights came into tonight’s MIAA tournament matchup with a 6-1 record in MIAA Tournament play against the Alma College Scots. Calvin lived up to that billing by defeating the Scots (17-13) in three sets 25-23, 25-21, 25-17. Calvin, now 26-6, will face Hope on Saturday in the MIAA Tournament final. The Dutch defeated Albion 25-10, 25-10, 25-5 in Friday’s second semifinal match.
Rebecca Kamp Named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Volleyball Team
Calvin College sophomore Rebecca Kamp has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV first team in women’s volleyball in the college division. As a member of the all-district first team, Kamp advances to the national ballot and is eligible for ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America consideration.
The college division includes NCAA II and III schools as well as NAIA institutions. The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America program is organized and voted on by the College Sports Information Director’s Association (CoSIDA) of America.
