ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Calvin midfielder Zach Willis its Offensive Player of the Week in men’s soccer for games played through Oct. 7. Willis, a junior from Wyoming (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS), scored three goals and assisted on another in leading the Knights to a pair of MIAA victories for the week.

He scored what proved to be the winning goal and added an assist in a 3-1 victory over Adrian, then scored the game’s first two goals as the Knights defeated Alma, 3-0. Willis is being honored as MIAA (Offensive) Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

Calvin is back in action on Wednesday when it hosts league-leading Olivet at 4 p.m. at Calvin’s Zuidema Field. In the first meeting of the year between the two teams, Olivet claimed a 6-5 victory, overcoming a 4-0 first half deficit.
