Women’s Tennis Drops Pair of Matches to Regionally-Ranked Foes

WHEATON, IL - The Calvin women’s tennis team dropped a pair of matches over the weekend to regionally-ranked foes. On Friday, Calvin fell at Wheaton 8-1 and then dropped an 8-1 decision on Saturday to Coe (IA) in a match played at Wheaton. Wheaton enetered the weekend ranked eighth in the latest Central Region rankings while Coe was ranked ninth.
Freshman Alli Roode picked up wins for Calvin in both matches, claiming a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles against Wheaton and then recording a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles against Coe.
Calvin returns to action on Thursday when it faces Aquinas College at the Riverview Racquet Club at 2 p.m.
