Women’s Soccer Rolls to 9-0 Win at Albion

ALBION - The Calvin women’s soccer team rolled to a 9-0 win at Albion Tuesday afternoon to move to 11-3-1 overall and to 10-2-1 in the MIAA. Calvin remains in sole possession of first place in the MIAA standings. Calvin led 4-0 at halftime and never looked back. Junior Danielle Carter and freshman Christina Drost had two goals apiece. Also scoring for the Knights were seniors Francesca Smith and Liz Cancel, juniors Heidi Scholten and Kelly Koets and freshman Sydney Kinney. Goalkeepers Ashton Hearn, Lauren Merz and Leesha Gunnink combined on the shutout for the Knights. Calvin will continue a busy week on Thursday, traveling to Kalamazoo for a 7 p.m. contest.
