Women’s Lacrosse Defeated by Randolph-Macon 18-5

ASHLAND, VA - Calvin suffered an 18-5 loss to Randolph-Macon College Tuesday afternoon. The Knights are now 1-5 on the year while Randolph-Macon improves to 5-1.

Calvin trailed 12-2 at halftime and could not mount a comeback in the second half. Senior Katie Pranger (Denver, CO/Denver Christian HS) led the Calvin attack with three goals - boosting her season total to 13.

Junior Michelle Holwerda (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) and sophomore Lissa Busscher (Holland/Holland Christian HS) also scored goals for the Knights.

Pranger and senior goalie Lauren Spoelstra (Oakland, NJ/Eastern Christian HS) scooped up four ground balls apiece. Spoelstra also had six saves in goal.

Randolph-Macon outshot Calvin 29-13 in the game.

Calvin is back in action on Saturday when it travels to St. Vincent (Pa.) for a 1 p.m. non-conference match.
