Volleyball Remains Unbeaten in MIAA Play With Win Over Trine

ANGOLA, IN - Calvin remained unbeaten in MIAA play with a 25-19, 25-20, 25-14 victory at Trine University Saturday afternoon. Ranked ninth nationally, the Knights are now 15-2 overall and 10-0 in the MIAA heading into a showdown at rival Hope next Wednesday.

Sophomore Lizzie Kamp (Orland Park, IL/Chicago Christian HS) had 10 kills and seven digs. Juniors Erin VanderPlas (Cadillac/McBain Christian HS) and Renee DeHaan (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) had six kills apiece. VanderPlas had two block assists and two block solos while DeHaan had one block solo and five block assists.

Freshman Megan Rietema (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) had 27 assists, three kills, three service aces, three digs, three block assists and two block solos. AS a team, Calvin had 12 service aces. Junior Kelly Peterson (Ramsey, MN/Anoka HS), freshman Kristen Zietse (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) and Lizzie Kamp all had two service aces apiece.

Calvin’s match at Hope next Wednesday is slated to start at 6:30 p.m.
