Vande Streek Records 300th Win at Calvin in 71-68 Triumph Over Carthage in MIAA/CCIW Challenge

Hosting the MIAA/CCIW Challenge, Calvin played in the nightcap against Carthage College after Hope defeated Wheaton in a 79-78 thriller. Head Coach Kevin Vande Streek came into the match with 299 wins on his Calvin resume’, and was looking for his 300th. Vande Streek got that 300th win on Friday night as Calvin recorded a come-from-behind 71-68 victory over Carthage College on the first night of the MIAA/CCIW Challenge. Juniors Tom Snikkers and Matt DeBoer scored 15 points apiece to help lead the Knights to the win. Calvin is now 4-3 on the year including 4-0 at Van Noord Arena this season. Vande Streek is now 300-126 in his 16 years at the helm of the Calvin men’s basketball program. Calvin will face Wheaton on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. while Hope will take on Carthage at 3:30 p.m. Earlier on Friday, Hope edged Wheaton 79-78.
