Travis Vegter Named Capital One Academic All-District Selection

Capital One Academic All-District Men's Soccer Teams

Calvin College junior Travis Vegter has received yet another honor. Vegter has been named to the Division III Capital One Academic All-District team in menís soccer. He is now eligible for Capital One Academic All-America consideration. Calvin is a member of District 6 which includes the states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

A native of Hudsonville and a graduate of Hudsonville Unity Christian High School, Vegter is a biology major. He was a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll a year ago.
Vegter is in the midst of a sensational junior soccer campaign as he has scored 24 goals along with three assists for a total of 51 points. His goal total is the second-highest single-season total in Calvin menís soccer history.

He was recently named the Division III National Player of the Week by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

He has helped the Calvin menís soccer team post an overall record of 11-5-0 and move into first place in the MIAA standings with a 10-2-0 record.

2013-14 Capital One Academic All-Districtģ Men’s and Womenís Soccer Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nationís top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDAís Academic All-America teams programs since 2011.
