Tom Snikkers Named MIAA Co-Player of the Week in Men’s Basketball

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Calvin forward Tom Snikkers and Hope forward Nate Snuggerud its Players of the Week in men’s basketball for games played through November 19.
Snikkers, a junior from Jenison (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS), averaged 18.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game for the week as the Knights won two of three games. He won tournament Most Valuable Player at Calvin’s Tip-Off Tournament. In the first game, he had 27 points and 11 rebounds, including a game-tying 3-pointer that sent the game to a second overtime, in a 92-88 double overtime win over Grace Bible. He then followed with 16 points and seven rebounds in the championship game, an 81-76 win over Willamette, Ore.
Snikkers is being honored as MIAA Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Calvin returns to action Wednesday night when it hosts the Lions of Finlandia University at Van Noord Arena at 7:30 p.m.
