Carthage Last-Chance Meet Results

KENOSHA, WI - Calvin College junior Sarah Reasoner (Cambridge, MN) likely punched her ticket to next week’s NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships with a stellar series of throws in the shot put Friday night at a last-chance (indoor) meet hosted by Carthage College. An (outdoor) All-American a year ago in both the shot put and discus, Reasoner took first place in the shot put with a strong NCAA III provisional qualifying throw of 44-7 1/2 Friday night.  Reasoner’s series of throws included marks of 42-4, 43-9, 43-10, 43-5, 44-7 and 44-6. Reasoner’s previous indoor best this winter had been 42-8 3/4.

Reasoner is making her first bid for a trip to the NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships. A year ago, she was named the MIAA’s Most Outstanding Field Event Performer in women’s track and field.

The NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled to be held next Friday and Saturday (March 12 and 13) at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. The NCAA III Championships field will be announced later this weekend.
