Sarah Reasoner Named Regional Field Athlete of the Year by USTFCCA

Calvin College sophomore Sarah Reasoner has been named the Division III Great Lakes Regional Field Event Athlete of the Year by the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association.
A sophomore from Cambridge, Minn., Reasoner won MIAA titles in both the shot put and the discus to help lead Calvin to its 20th straight outdoor team title, also earning MIAA Most Outstanding Field Event Performer honors for her efforts. Reasoner has Division III’s third-best mark in the shot put headed into the national championships at 46’, and she will also compete in the discus where she is seeded 14th (144-8).
The shot put is scheduled to take place on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. while the discus is scheduled to take place on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Marietta College will serve as host with the meet website located at: http://pioneers.marietta.edu/track/09championships/
Reasoner is the second Calvin women’s track and field athlete to receive regional honors from the USTFCCCA this year as senior Lauren Bergstrom was named the Great Lakes Regional Runner of the Year for the indoor season this past March.
