Rushlow and Counsell Compete - Do Not Advance Out of Prelims at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Mark Rushlow and Elizabeth Counsell both competed for Calvin at the NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday. Neither individual was able to qualify for the evening finals however.
Rushlow (Goshen, IN) competed in the (men’s) 100 butterfly but was unable to advance out of the morning prelims, finishing 19th with a time of 50.07.
Counsell (Indianapolis, IN) competed in the (women’s) 200 freestyle prelims and finished 42nd (1:57.74).
Action will continue on Friday with Rushlow scheduled to compete in the 100 backstroke where he is seeded 36th (52.06) and Counsell in the 100 breaststroke where she is seeded third (1:03.62).
Sophomore Andrew Krafft (Fort Wayne, IN) will also compete in the men’s one-meter diving preliminaries Saturday afternoon.
