Rietema Claims MIAA Specialty Player of the Week Honors for 10th Time

ROYAL OAK, Mich.  The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Calvin setter Megan Rietema its Specialty Player of the Week in volleyball for matches played through September 15.

Rietema, a senior from Grand Rapids (Grand Rapids Christian HS), dished out 151 assists (10.1 per set), had a hitting percentage of .429 and added 37 digs for the week as Calvin remained unbeaten with five consecutive victories, including a 4-0 mark at a weekend tournament at Wittenberg, Ohio. She had seven kills, 20 assists and six digs in an MIAA win over Trine. In a tournament win over Otterbein, Ohio, she had 10 kills, 32 assists and nine digs. Rietema is being honored as Specialty Player of the Week for the second time this season and tenth time in her career.

Calvin will host rival Hope Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Van Noord Arena.
