Renee DeHaan Named MIAA Player of the Week in Volleyball

Calvin College junior middle blocker Renee DeHaan has been named the MIAA Player of the Week in volleyball. DeHaan, a junior from Grand Rapids (Grand Rapids Christian HS), had 13 kills for a hitting percentage of .481 in leading the first-place Knights to an MIAA victory over Kalamazoo. She added five blocks in the four-game match. DeHaan is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career. DeHaan is averaging 2.06 kills-per-set along with a hitting percentage of .325 this year. She is also averaging 1.13 blocks-per-set. Ranked ninth nationally, Calvin (12-2 overall, 7-0 MIAA) returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Alma for a key MIAA match slated to start at 6:30 p.m.
DeHaan is the third individual from Calvin to earn MIAA Player of the Week honors this fall. Teammate Rebecca Kamp has been a two-time MIAA Player of the Week while teammate Megan Rietema has been a two-time Specialty Player of the Week.
