A middle-hitter, she is also one of nine four-time All-Americans in Division III women’s volleyball history as seven others did so by combination of being named first, second or third team during their four years of collegiate competition.

This fall, Kamp has been among the nation’s leaders in kills-per-set (3.85), blocks-per-set (1.37), points-per-set (4.89) and hitting percentage (.401). Last week she was named to the Great Lakes All-Region team for the fourth straight year.

A sophomore setter, Rietema (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) has been ranked nationally throughout the year in assists-per-set average (10.66) while directing a Calvin offense that has been ranked number-one in attack percentage. She also averaged nearly a block-per-set and individual attack percentage of .325. She was a two-time MIAA Specialty Player of the Week and was named to the All-MIAA first team for a second straight year. Last week she was named to the Great Lakes All-Region team for a second straight year and later landed a spot on the NCAA III All-Region Tournament team hosted by Calvin.

She was named to all-tournament teams at the Thomas More Invitational and the Wittenberg Great Lakes Regional Challenge. She earned MIAA Player of the Week honors once and was named to the All-MIAA first team for a second straight year. Last week she was named to the Great Lakes All-Region team for a third straight year and was later named to the NCAA III Regional All-Tournament team.

An outside hitter, VanderPlas hails from Cadillac and is a graduate of McBain Northern Michigan Christian High School. She was an MIAA Player of the Week selection this year and landed a spot on the All-MIAA second team and Great Lakes All-Region team. During the season, she averaged 2.46 kills-per-set and attack percentage of .263.

It marks just the second time in Calvin women’s volleyball history that three of its players have received All-America accolades in the same year as Julie Dykstra, Roxanne Helmus and Leah Calsbeek did so in 1986.

Calvin finished the 2011 season with an overall record of 33-1. The Knights were MIAA regular season and MIAA tournament champions.
