Nicole Michmerhuizen to Represent Calvin Track and Field Teams at NCAA III Indoor Championships

For the second consecutive year, Nicole Michmerhuizen will represent the Calvin track and field program at the NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships.

A senior out of Holland Christian High School, Michmerhuizen will compete in the women’s 3,000 and 5,000 meter runs. The 3,000 meter competition is a new event at this year’s national championship meet.

A year ago, Michmerhuizen took second in the 5,000 meters at the national indoor meet at North Central College.

She is seeded seventh in the 3,000 meters (9:45.67) and fifth in the 5,000 meters (17:01.38).

The 5,000 meters will take place on Friday evening at 5:50 p.m. (central time) while the 3,000 meters is scheduled to take place at 4:40 p.m. (central time) on Saturday afternoon.

The meet will take place place in Lincoln, Nebraska. Nebraska Wesleyan University will serve as the host of the meet. The meet will actually take place at the University of Nebraska’s Bob Devaney Sports Center.
