Men’s Tennis Defeats Alma in Regular Season Finale - Hits Double-Digit Plateau for Wins

The Calvin men’s tennis team secured a 9-0 victory at Alma Saturday afternoon. The Knights finish the regular season with an overall mark of 10-7 and a second place conference mark of 5-1. It marks the 10th consecutive year that the Calvin men’s tennis team has reached the double-digit plateau in victories.
Juniors Phil Reinken and Preston Phillips both claimed singles victories while sophomore Loukas Peterson and junior Jarrod Brower also had singles wins. Reinken and Phillips are now both 14-8 in singles play this year while Peterson is 13-5 and Brower 12-8.
In finishing second in the MIAA regular season standings, Calvin receives the second seed for next week’s MIAA Tournament. Calvin will host a semifinal match against third-seeded Hope next Thursday. Kalamazoo is the top seed for the four-team tournament.
