Men’s Tennis Defeated by Grand Valley State - Prepares for Spring Break Trip to Florida

GRANDVILLE - The Calvin men’s tennis team suffered its first loss of the season late Thursday night, bowing to Division II Grand Valley State University 9-0 at the Ramblewood Tennis Courts. Calvin is now 3-1 on the year. Calvin is scheduled to return to action next Monday when it faces Otterbein at noon in a match scheduled to played in Orlando, Florida.

SINGLES—1. Marc Roesslein d. Andrew DeVlieger 6-1, 6-2; 2. Philipp Claus d. Brian DeMaagd 6-2, 6-4; 3. Brock Plangger d. Andrew Rescorla 6-2, 6-1; 4. Josh Kazdan d. Preston Phillips 6-2, 6-1; 5. Alex Switzer d. Roland Eldridge 6-3, 7-5; 6. Ryan Diebold d. Phil Reinken 4-6, 6-3 (10-7).

DOUBLES—1. Roesslein/Pat Snyder d. Phillips/Eldridge 8-3; 2. Plangger/Claus d. DeMaagd/Rescorla 8-5; 3. Diebold/Switzer d. Jon Goorhouse/Andrew DeVlieger 8-6.
