Men’s Tennis Defeated by Davenport

Calvin dipped to 3-5 overall with a 7-2 non-conference loss to Davenport University Monday afternoon at the Canepa Tennis Center in East Grand Rapids.
The match was hard-fought but the Panthers won several close matches. The Panthers swept the three doubles points including 8-6 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Junior Brian DeMaagd was a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 winner at No. 1 singles and sophomore Loukas Peterson a 6-2, 6-4 winner at No. 4 singles but Davenport picked up three-set victories at 2, 3, 5 and 6 singles to secure the win.
Calvin is back in action on Thursday when it hosts Trine in a conference match at 4 p.m. at the Strikwerda Tennis Courts.
