Men’s Swimming and Diving Team Fourth at U. of Chicago Invitational

CHICAGO, IL – Calvin took fourth place at the University of Chicago Invitational with a team score of 404 points. Host Chicago took first place with a team score of 996 points.
Senior Dennis Steenbergen (Aylmer, ON) picked up his second victory of the meet, winning the one-meter diving competition (388.85), one night after winning three-meter competition.
Other top finishes for the Calvin men included senior Keith Conrad finishing third in the 100 butterfly (54.47) and fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:03.72), freshman Ross Battoclette (Cincinnati, OH) placing fourth in the 200 freestyle (1:48.17) and junior Kurt VanAllsburg (Grand Rapids Christian HS) finishing sixth in the 100 backstroke (57.18).
