Lou Collins Memorial Tournament Results Day One
BATTLE CREEK - The Calvin men’s golf team is tied for seventh through one day of competition of the Lou Collins Memorial Tournament held at the Bedford Valley Country Club. Calvin fired a first day total of 313 strokes and is tied with Hope for seventh place in a field of 15 teams.
Indiana Wesleyan leads the tournament with a first day total of 298 strokes.
Senior Ben Kuiper (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) was Calvin’s top golfer on Friday with a round of 76 . He was followed by senior Dave Sarkipato (Kalamazoo/Kalamazoo Christian HS) and junior Ross Ryzenga (Holland/Holland Christian HS) with rounds of 78. Sophomore James Van Noord (Troy/Troy Athens HS) added an 81 while sophomore Michael Wierenga (Caledonia/South Christian HS) had an 84.
The top individual score on Friday belonged to Alma’s Marty Predmesky with a 70.
