Assistant coach Al Hoekstra cited the performance of Kerr as a key factor in Calvin’s win. “I thought Dan Kerr was terrific today,” said Hoekstra. “He fell back early in the race but fought his back up among the leaders. He showed a lot of mental toughness and didn’t back down. I’m really proud of the way he ran.”
The MIAA jamboree is worth one-third of the final MIAA title with the remaining two-thirds coming at the MIAA Championships. Calvin will host the MIAA Championships on October 30 at the Gainey Athletic Complex.
