Men’s Basketball Is Favorite in MIAA Coaches’ Poll - Women’s Basketball Picked Second

The MIAA pre-season coaches’ polls in men’s and women’s basketball have been released. On the men’s side, Calvin has been pegged as the pre-season MIAA favorite. On the women’s side, Calvin has been picked to finish second.

In the men’s poll, Calvin received five first place votes and finished just one point ahead of two-time defending MIAA champion Hope which received three first place votes. Albion was picked to finish third.

In the women’s poll, defending MIAA champion Hope was picked first, receiving six first place votes while Calvin received 2.5 first place votes to finish second. Albion received one-half of a first place vote and finished third in the poll.

The Calvin men’s basketball team opens its season on November 21 when it faces Grace Bible College at the Calvin Tip-Off Tournament. The Calvin women’s basketball team opens its season on November 15 when it travels to Madonna University.
