Men’s basketball headed to Rose Hulman for NCAA III Tournament first round game

The Calvin College men’s basketball team is back in the NCAA III Men’s Basketball Tournament. The Knights will travel to Terre Haute, Ind, for a one-game regional against host Rose-Hulman on March 2. The game is slated to start at 7:00 p.m. EST. Ticket information is still pending.
Calvin (24-3), which is making its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2007 and 18th overall, will play the Engineers of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (24-3). Calvin won the MIAA Tournament to earn its automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. Rose-Hulman, ranked 23rd in the most recent poll by d3hoops.com, earned its birth by winning the Heartland Athletic Conference Tournament title. The meeting will be the first ever between the two teams.
Calvin has played two members of the Heartland Athletic Conference this season. The Knights recorded a 98-56 win over Anderson (IN) on Nov. 20 as well as an 87-63 victory over Manchester (IN) on Nov. 27.
Calvin, ranked 15th in the same poll, is 30-18 in NCAA III Tournament games for a .625 winning percentage. The Knights are 12-5 in tournament play under head coach Kevin Vande Streek.

Tickets will be available in the lobby of the Sports and Recreation Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. A total of 650 tickets for Calvin fans will be held at the Sports and Recreation Center. An additional 300 tickets will also be available at the door.
