Megan Rietema Named MIAA Specialty Player of the Week for 12th Time in Career

ROYAL OAK, Mich.  The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Calvin setter Megan Rietema its Specialty Player of the Week in volleyball for matches played through Novmeber 2. Rietema, a senior from Grand Rapids (Grand Rapids Christian HS), dished out 67 assists (11.2 per set) and added 11 kills, 13 digs and seven blocks as the Knights claimed a share of the MIAA championship with a pair of victories for the week. She had 31 assists, six kills, six blocks and six digs in a sweep of Adrian, then added 36 assists, five kills and seven digs in a sweep of Kalamazoo. Rietema is being honored as Player of the Week for the fourth time this season and 12th time in her career. Calvin will host the MIAA Tournament this Friday and Saturday with the semifinals set for Friday at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. and the finals slated for 4 p.m. On Friday, Hope will face Trine at 5:30 with Calvin and Saint Mary’s to follow at 7:30 p.m.
